Will I get better diesel mileage with this all stainless steel flow-through muffler?

Will it be much louder than my factory 05 Dodge/Cummins muffler?

I just acquired a Travel trailer (6,500 lbs/dry -10,000 lbs gross) and of course my mileage did drop. At 55 mph. I'm doing about 14.5-15.5 on the flat with a 48RE Auto Tranny. Would the Aero Turbo muffler help my towing mileage any?

Also does this type of muffler affect the turbo charger in any way, positive or negatively? Dodge told me that installing the muffler wouldn't affect my warranty.

    1. It will be louder than stock, how much louder is a guess to me as you will still have the stock cat.

    2. It will positively effect your turbo, as it will help get the exhaust out of the engine faster helping the turbo, pistons, and head stay cooler. It won't be a drastic temp drop though as the stock cat is still in the way.

    3. It may or may not make a difference in your mileage. Once again, the stock cat is still in the way and the exhaust won't be completely opened up. But, it likely might push mileage up either none, .5mpg, and maybe even 1mpg. I highly doubt anymore than that.

It will be MUCH louder than your stocker. I had one on my 03 and it was very clean, on another 05 it was raspy and obnoxious. Almost like straight piped, but not quite as bad. Expect a fair amount of drone while pulling.

It will help your egts and spool up and should help mileage a bunch.

maybe i missed it here... but it would depend on if you got the short or the long version. i have the SHORT 4040 and it is louder. at this moment i still have my CAT but it soon will come out and 5 inch stacks will go on. yes, my truck will be much louder than stock.

i get a TON of compliments on how my truck sounds. it isnt too loud when towing, and it helped with MPG a bit. i did a return trip 5 days after i had it installed from a route i had just driven. i averaged, hand calc, 1mpg better. LOTS of variables in there, and waht not. this is not from just the mufler.

would i do it again? in a hearbeat. it sounds just right. not too loud, not to stock.
