60 gallon (seems like 55 useable IIRC?) poly tank replaces the stock tank. Two sources, same tank. Super Tank Elite
Russ, good stuff !!!! Does it hang down lower?? Meaning will it be visible with my lift?? This would be awesome to extend the towing range that is currently not to far...
It does hang down a bit and is visible, but wouldn't be too bad if it were painted black. Mine rolls on 33s with stock lift and you have to bend down and actually look to see it unless you are back quite a ways. Doesn't bother me, and I can drive from west coast to east coast on 3 tanks.
We have a bunch of semi truck tanks from trucks we have junked out. I haven't done it yet but before my next long trip I'm gonna take one and make a base for it so when we find a cheap place to fill can top it off. On the way to EJS a couple weeks ago everything was $2.45/gal except in rawlins it was $2.19/gal, wish I had it then.
I'm in the process of installing a 105 gallon tank in the bed of my rig.... any ideas on how I should tie into the filler hose... ??? the 1" filler hose is inside of a 2" vent hose....
Permanant Marker has a supertank on his Chevy, it looks like someone strapped a coffin under the truck.imp: So far I'm cool with my 38 gallon factory tank, but a second one about the same size would be nice for long trips.
i think this is the way to go if you tow heavy. i can get ~500 miles on a tank empty with my stock tank. since i tow heavy and have my tool box in the bed space is limited. this way since i already am over loaded i am not adding 600 to 700 lbs more in fuel let alone the box weight. also space is not affected. just the safer option for people in my case. I have dual factory tanks on mine. I just need to fix the sending unit on the driver's side one so that I can use it :doah: .
