It has been snowing here in CO all day and the hill that my house is on has iced over quite a bit. It is alot of fun watching people w/o 4wd try and drive uprotfl rotfl I have seen a Ford Ranger, Mercedes CLK500, and a Chrysler Sebring back down after fighting to get halfway up the hill. I even drug a Kia Sportage up to the top after she made it halfway and then backed down and couldnt get going again. I was in 4-Low and spinning my tires about 25mph to gain about 5mph in foward speed. After that I chained up the rears to pull any other unfortunate motorists!!!:D

Thats one thing I like about the California valley, no ice and snow to deal with. It can be fun to play in but is a pain to get around on a daily basis. It is for me because I haven't had a lot of experience in that kind of weather. We had to drive 300 miles total on snow and ice going to and from West Yellowstone, scared the crap out of me.:D

Does your truck have the G80 locker? I've seen the locker make a big difference, I wish I had a locking diff.

P.S. Hope I didn't cause you to slide around earlier because I was yacking away on the phone with you.:doah: rotfl

Yeah Ive got the locker...its awesome!!

haha no you didnt make me slide... I was behind a F150 towing a 14' Tandem bumper-pull cargo trailer. The road was iced over and He hit the brakes and the trailer started fishtailing and pushing the truck. I reacted by tagging the brakes and making the ABS do its thing...just one of those things that makes your adrenaline surge:D Snow is alot of fun to drive on when your not in a hurry. I always use the skinny pedel to steel instead of the steering wheelrotfl

Here is what I did this morning:

My house is on a hill and we got about 4in of snow last night. My street was iced over this morning and people couldn't get up the hill. This guy was in an 05' F450 PSD w/ 4wd and a small dump bed. He also had a Bobcat on the trailer and even in 4wd he couldnt get up the hill and jacknifed backing down (his tires sucked). They unloaded the Bobcat and tried to push the trailer straight with it...to no avail. So I offered to drag him up the hill:D We strapped up and I put her in 4-Low and rolled on the throttle. The trans shifted up into 3rd and we just cruised up the hill:cool: I put the chains on last night and was glad this morning!

He asked me if it had a 454 and I was like Heck no!!! burnout

I was up there that night, I pull double's for work, I turned around at the exit before monument hill and came back home (after throwing a tire chain and ripping off the front splashguard and rear mudflap on my freightliner:doah: ) and enjoyed a three day weekend.

Aren't there any trees where you live? I'm not familiar with that area but it looks fairly treeless unless that's just a new development. Only reason I ask is that I've always kind of had an eye on that area of the country for a potential place to move to.

Its a new development so there arent many trees around right now. But the rest of my town has alot of trees. If you are considering moving anywhere I have to say this is one of the greatest places I have ever been in the entire countrywaytogo
