Some of you might have read that my stereo stuff was stolen a few weeks ago at the dealership. Well they cut me a check to replace all the stuff stolen, I ended up getting a better sound system than what I had before for cheaper....go figure. I bought a Alpine deck that was sat ready and installed the antenna box behind the dash, nothing like tearing into the dash of a new truck, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Anyways, the sound quality and music choice is freakin amazing! I put an Alpine V12 amp in to run my speakers and what a difference it made in conjunction with the head unit.

I realize now what everyone's talking about when they say there is no comparison with Alpine.

The sony head unit I had in before produced mediocre sound results. The system sounds like it should now, mild bass and great acoustics!

For those who haven't switched to satellite yet, I strongly recommend itwaytogo

    Agreed...

I just dropped a Sportster replay in the rig today. I listened too Hair Nation and Hard Attack, most all day. Ok I'm showing my age...:)
    Nice setup, easy to install.
I'd like it hardwired instead of running off the power outlet thought.

did you install it via the deck or do you have an add on module/screen deal? I used to have XM and didn't really care for it much but have listenned to sirius and like it better, thinking about it again.

It's through the Alpine Deck. I just installed the receiver box behind the dash and connected it to the head unit. I think it makes for a cleaner look than having the add on unit.

One other thing I noticed is, the screen tells you who and what you are listening too. I also like if it's a talk show the phone number is diplayed on the screen.......waytogo

I've got both... I like the sirius better as well, but I picked up the XM box with full refunds and mom was nice enough to add me to her subscription for my b-day.

sirius channels seem to repeat the songs quite a bit more often, but the radio personalities are a whole lot more interesting. xm is nice when the kids are in the car because it's easier to see the not-so-family-friendly channels...

I think if i get it again I will get a sirius tuner box so I can take it from truck to semi truck to shop and such like I had the XM. Too bad can't run a tuner box directly into the deck so can be nice and clean but still portable
