Does any one have any pics of column mounted gauges? Im thinking of getting one but curious how they look. What do you guys prefer? I had pillar gauges on my last truck but didnt really like em there.

I love pillar guages, very easy to see and you can't beat the look of a triple pod. Looks pretty cool looking through the windshield from the outside.

I don't like the columb guages, they get in the way of the factory guages and they are hard to see with the steering wheel.

I agree that nothing looks cooler than looking through the windshiled and seeing those gauges. I personally did not like them there.

Two other options. The newer trucks have some gauge mount pods for up by the windshield/rear view mirror. Also there's the dash top style which I chose over the pillar mount because of visibility concerns.

I've got a large tach on top of my column and an aux temp gauge to the right and down of the shifter lever on my '84 chebby. sux butt. first thing to go if I ever get the chance to re-do that truck.

I like the dash mount ones myself. I'm picky about what's in my line of sight on the pillars, and usually if it's not a nekkid girl, I don't wanna look at it there. sure they're bling, but they get in my way. I've seen the ones over the rear view mirrors but i've never had any experience with them. might be a good place as well.

I think one of these days I'm going to go with a whole array of dash top mounted guages. It'll still have that bling factor when people look in and check that out, but should afford better visibility (that pillar already blocks quite a bit of visibility in a fairly important area) but still heads-up type display. The other thing I plan with regard to the guages is orient them all in such a way that when the guage is in the normal range it'll be pointing straight up.

I really don't like the idea of the pillar mount gauges either. I think the stock pillar is blocks too much of what I need to see as it is and I really don't really care about bling. I'm planning on doing the over the mirror mount. I'm short so I'll be out of my line of sight.
