Have you guys read the latest issue of Diesel Power? I am very disappointed. They have the worlds top 10 diesel engines. The 7.3 PSD was fifth, which beat the dmax at 6th, and the Cummins was 10th!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No way the 7.3 is a better engine than the 5.9 Cummins. I agree that its a great engine, but not better than the Duramax or the Cummins. There's no way you cant convience me that the magazine isnt biased. They did a comparison of the three trucks and still liked the Ford even though the Dodge and Chevy out performed it. WTF????

    I'll check to be sure.

I may be mistaken, but I think they started the article off with a statement saying that the engines weren't in any particular order. Just that these were their choices for the top 10 engines and why.

i can almost make a good guistimate and say that theres more than twice as many 7.3L's in pickups, vanv, bus and medium duty trucks than there is 5.9L cummins in buses, vans, pickups and med duty.

Who cares, diesel power is a joke of a magazine anyway. All they have in their magazines are a bunch of overgrown show trucks with huge lifts, tires made for mud and rocks(not for towing), and just happen to have the diesel option with yet another Banks NoPowerPack.

Who cares, we all know that all the 5.9's, every version of the Dmax, and pretty much every motor from International (6.9 and all the 7.3's) completely rock and are better than any gas engine that was offered at the same time.

Not really, I got the first issue of Diesel Builder. It is ok but I haven't seen any magazines that really interest me all that much.

The 5.9 cummins is in countless off highway applications their in a ton of case ih tractors, busses, meduim duty trucks, motor homes, I doubt theirs twice as many 7.3s than 5.9.

I will agree that there probably isn't twice as many T444's than 5.9's, infact nearly the other way around. BUT, the DT466 is in more stuff ten fold than the 5.9.

I don't. Arround here practically everything has a T444E in it. I rarely see anything with a cummins in it unless its a C-series.

I saw where it said 'no particular order.' But they numbered them anyway, man they are dumb. :doah:

I don't care how many 5.9's there are out there, the fact is that they will continue to be out there for a long time.
