So I got the HOT upgrade for my Juice this morning. On the Dodges it is the same as level 5 horsepower wise, but surpasses the factory 2,700RPM defueling mode and fuels the engine hard all the way to 3200RPM's. My face after the first full throttle pull.... It definantly feels like it pulls harder at redline. I know that the HOT upgrade is available for all of the Juices for various models and brands, I reccommend it it for sure.
It jumps up to 1350 pretty fast, before I even hit lockup.:doah: It was like that on level 5 too, I need a bigger turbo....:doah:
Holy moly thats hot. I set my EGT limiter at 1250* and usually try not to go past 1150*... With the TST on 3/3 and towing my 14k gooseneck loaded I hit about 1100* in 4th gear on the steep hills. If I turn up to 5/5 empty and lay into it I can hit 1250* in a few seconds
Ah, its not too hot. Cummins says 1250* sustained and short bursts up to 1350* is ok. I set my EGT limiter at 1350*. I haven't pulled a grade yet with my Juice so I don't know how far I will have to turn it down to stay under 1250*. I do all of my grade pulling towing during the winter months headed to the mountains. As far as my EGT's with level 5 vs. Hot level 6, it's hard to tell much of a difference since it jumps to 1300*+ before the 1/8th mile is complete. :doah: I probably should turnbuckle my turbo but the HY-35 still sucks. I might come up with an used Industrial Injection Phat Shaft 62/12 sometime in the upcoming months. Diesel Nut Motorsports think they might have one coming in soon and I'm first in line for it.
I use to run between 1200 and 1300 degrees for 4 or 5 minutes straight pulling steep grades on on my 95 Dodge. Just as long as your not exceeding 1300 for a long period of time your good.
i don't run mine in level 5 for very long... im afraid to break my transmission but the egt's do get up around 1300 pretty quick when drag racing in level 5
Is that pre-turbo or post-turbo? I know in the Dmax, I bury a 1600* guage for the entire 1/4 mile. John
I agree, I guess the cummins is less tolerable to heat? I am just asking because I am curiousand have no knowlege of the cummins. Thanks, John
Ehh, I look like an idiot doing it, since my truck is a one legger. I always laugh at people trying to spin donuts with a one legger, didn't want to join the crowd. I'd like to get a Dana Powerlock put in my D70, infact you've inspired me to call and find out what it's going to cost....
I think the Dmax and Cummins are about the same as far as sustained EGT limits from the manufacturer. I know the Cummins is 1250 sustained, 1350* temporarely, and I think the Dmax is the same.
