I want to change my 3" exhaust to a 4". When you guys do it do you change the drop pipe right at the turbo or just connect the 4" to the 3" drop pipe.

I think it is up to you. I believe you can get a cast 4" elbow off of the turbo from the 04.5 and newer dodges and run a true 4 inch system or get a reducer 4"-3" and put that inline to go 4" back.

Were you going to get a kit or build it yourself?

I have a friend who owns a muffler shop and he will probably just bend and weld the pieces as needed.waytogo

Order yourself a turbo back 4" kit from one of our sponsors, and put it in yourself. It's easy, and should cost less than having a shop do it.

I would go for the 5" vs the 4" though. I have 5" on mine and a friend with his 01 has 4" and he wishes he went to 5" too. I got a 4" downpipe for $63 from a local exhaust shop and scored a friends old 5" when he went to stacks. They are very easy to install.

I would love to do it myself but I am somewhat handicapped and only have full use of one arm.

Oh, yeah it definantly takes both arms to rustle that old exhaust off and get the new system in. Bummer, well it won't cost that much more to have a shop do it anyway I guess.
