Has anyone besides myself had any injector troubles with a 03HO? I have a 4inch Banks exhaust, AFE drop-in air filter, Amsoil remote by-pass oil filter system, Edge EZ set on 2.FASS pump(the smaller one) 3 fuel filters and have replaced every durn injector!!! Some of them 2 and 3 times. Nobody can figure out the problem!!!!!!!!!
I've only had to change one at the dealer. The guy had a tank of dirty fuel, actual dirt in it, pulled the tank, drained + cleaned about 2 shovel-fulls of dirt out, replaced fuel filter, and ended up being able to clear system, but the one injector would not fire anymore. other then that we have not had any probs. You sound like you have the dirty fuel issue covered though. Are you sure it's an injector problem, and not an injector circuit (wiring)problem?
Something doesn't sound right. I don't know if you'd be able to tell, but the injectors that were bad, were the faulty electrically, meaning they wouldn't fire, or was it that they were firing, but the fuel was clogged in them? If the wiring checks out, then it would sound as if the fuel would be the issue. Did you replace them with cummins injectors or aftermarket ones?
dirt Been out on the road for a month, and my laptop can't get connected when I'm out west! I replaced the injectors with rebuilt Bosh units. About 350 a stick!!! I checked after market injectors, and they seem to be just the tips wich don't make much sense when you are haveing injector problems already, The last time it hapened, # 5 or 6 was messing up and I was a lil broke so I decided to make a few trips to build up the cash reserve, and the durn things smothed out and have been doing OK. Have been running from Ka to NC and then to Co to Fl> hauling three trucks through the mountians the fuel mileage has been 9.2 and got 13 hauling 3 small cars and the injector problem has not reared its ugly head. Am thinking about a different turbo. Any ideas from the heavy hauling dudes?? I weighed 34,000 on a rencent trip. As ya can see, I work the guts out of my truck. 289,000 miles and still going strong!!
I assume you have a stick. An Industrial injection Phat Shaft 62 would be perfect for you and what you are doing. That or a BD Super Bee single. I had one of these on my 03. Nice turbo, never gave me any trouble.
