I think it has way too much emmissions stuff on it. I think it's going to be the late 60's early 70's all over again with the muscle cars, except it will come on twice as hard and twice as vicous because they already know how to do the regulations and crack down. The more I read about the 6.7, the more I like my 2001 and the more I am interested in the 2006 and early 2007 5.9 Mega Cabs.
I agree with to a point. Just remember, with 6.7 you have more displacement. With new technology always coming out dealing with emissions shouldn't be a problem. I remember back in the day when i was doing research on putting a hefty dose of Nitrous(135shot) on my stock 96 OBDII Honda. Well, from talking with the "professionals" they said that it was the end of modifying these new OBDII engines. Guess what? I was able to do it with the proper know how and basic knowledge of a fuel injection system. Give it time. waytogo
one more thing, with a 6.7 liter on tap I know for a fact I'm going to buy one once things are sorted out when BOMBing. It's going to be a disadvantage to have a Ford or Chevy. :stir:
i agree... i am not one to be a fan of emissions garbage but im sure that they won't sacrifice any power for emission's sake. i am especially excited to see what edge and tst will come up with for the 07 dodges... pretty good competition for the LBZ i think:stir:
you can always free up some power by removing the emissions equipment if you live where you dont have to be testedopcorn:
i just took the cat off... it helps keep the temps lower and i think it may have even helped the responsiveness a bit.
I think the 6.7 is going to be a good engine, equal or better than the 5.9. There were a lot of naysayers when the '03 HPCR, and '04.5 version came on the the market, but they have both proven themselves to be durable. If you think about it, Cummins has a lot more to lose by laying an egg of an engine, as they are an engine manufacturer only, whereas the other two are more diversified. I have a small bit of insight into Cummins R+D, and it is quite extensive. They just don't trot stuff out with a few extra hoses on it just to pass new emissions requirements. They have been working on this for years.
sometimes bugs pop up but give em time and they can work em out I think that the problem with the 6.0 nobody took the time to work out its issues and I have a feeling the 6.4 will be the same way
