Has anyone ever driven or hauled there personal vehicle into Mexico? I may be hauling another persons car in my personal truck and trailer about 1000 miles into Mexico. My concerns are, availability of diesel fuel? What documents are necessary to take my rig accross the border? What documents are necessary for me to cross and return? Road conditions? Insurance? Any advise would be appreciated.
1. your insurance will be no good in Mexico. 2. get a visa, keep a copy of birth certificate w/ you. 3. There are a lot of big trucks in Mexico but a aux. tank would be a great idea. 4. Copy of you and your friends title should be enough. 5. Some roads are good some are terrible. 6. There are many areas that do not have fences. so be careful about free reanging cattle. 7. You have no rights. 8. You have absolutely no rights. 9. Keep a few dollars under your seat to pay off a "federaly" if you need to. 10. NObody in Mexico obeys trafic laws, but if you dont - guess who gets in trouble. 11. If you have wreck its your fault. 12. You have no rights. 13. Make damn sure you have no guns, bullets, shells, casing, spent cartidges,or anything of the such with you or you will go to jail. 14. Make sure a family member has a copy of your travel plans and stay in touch with them. If you wonder how i know any of this, I used to drive a tanker truck into Mexico daily about 10 years ago delivering molten sulfur to a chemical plant. I myself will not ever enter that 3rd world country ever again unless God calls me to.
NO no rights and I wouldnt even dream of driving any of my toys across the border, if you have a wreck your pretty much screwed.opcorn:
