Went and looked at the 99 k2500 gmc that I wrote about in the last post. Some stuff looked a little fishy with the truck so I took it to a good local GM mech. Truck had been hit in the front, and not put back together very well,He showed me where someone had missed bolts in the front fenders, and the body gaps didn't line back up.All steering parts where wore out, steering stabalizer(sp?) was not hooked up. Leaking head gasket (coolent) , had new rad. but he said it looked like they put the old cap back on and the bottom of the cap was rusted real bad. He said he could keep going but I stopped him there. Called the car lot back and told them to come get it. Lot is 200 miles from my house. Bad thing is I ran a carfax on it before I went to look at it and it came back clean! So on goes the search!
Well thats no good, I never have trusted carfax... You story reminds me of mine though. I was selling a truck and it ran great and the guy asked if he could take it to his mechanic to check it out and I said ok and he called me and said the mech said it needed like $3000 in engine work and that it had low compression on all cylinders, etc. I said whatever and he brought it back and the thing wouldn't idle, it would just die. So he stood there and tried to lowball me about 5k under what I was asking. I popped the hood and hooked the vacuum lines back up that his "mechanic" unhooked and then proceeded to tell him to get off my property before I call the police .
Jason, What a pinhead. Lets see... "I'll pop some hoses off, make it run like crap, and see if I can get a deal here." rotfl
