and I got to tow it home (I couldn't talk him into a Silverado with a Duramax). We put it on my 16' flat bed trailer and towed it from SE of Kansas City to SE of Des Moines - 300 miles. About 10000#. Truck performed flawlessly. We lost no more than 5mph up the big hills going north on I35, and on most hills, lost nothing. We traveled at 68mph to start off, but gradually we got all the way to 76. What a tow. I know that is nothing compared to what some of you guys do, but that is as big a load as I am ever likely to do (except the time we put 2 large round bales of hay, and a Bobcat 763 on the same trailer). I am happy with my truck.
Sounds like fun for you, but if I just bought a new Sub I'd be driving that thing, not trailering it home.
He is kind of a funny duck. His wife asked him the same thing - "why don't you just drive it home?" - He said he preferred to trailer it.
