So I won a reman'd P7100-913 auction on evilbay today. the 24valver is getting p-pump'd. Tell me about 24valve injectors with the p7100. Pop pressure. Can I use big 24v injectors and have the pops reset or what are folks doing with them? Thanks.

Far as I know you can't use 24v injectors with a P pump because the pressures are completely different.

Why do you want to P-pump your truck? Competition? I wouldn't trade my VP44 with adjustable electronics for anything, unless I was going to hardcore race.

I wouldn't say the pop pressures are completely different, 350 to 2 hundred something. I've heard of guys running they;re 24v sticks as is and just slamming the 7100 on and going. but also hit and miss for others.

I want to hear what guys are running for power sticks in a converted engine. because yes this truck will be heading north of 700...........but on that note I'll be willing to bet you haven't had to change a VP44 yet. This is the 3rd VP44 to go on my truck that I'm aware of, but the 1st since I've had it. It was a reman pump I pulled out. so its had at least the OEM pump, the reman I pulled out and the HRVP that I put in.

Can't have another electronic failure with a mechanical pump...............

Well, for some reason there are a few trucks out there that just eat VP44's for lunch. I don't know why, but there are a few guys on every Dodge/diesel board that just can't keep a VP alive. Nearly all guys don't have that kind of trouble with them.

Then, there are a number of guys that "get a good one" that never needs a VP44, ever.

It sure is weird to me, how much they can vary. One guy can't keep a pump in his stock commuter Dodge and another guy has a tapped TST/Smarty, 100HP sticks, an original VP, and 250K on the clock. Beats me.....:dunno:

So true.............and I've only got 170,000 KMS on the clock, I don't know what this is in miles but not damn much for an 8 year old truck :doah:

I've got 1/2" "garden hose" feeding the current IP and I can't draw it under 10psi WOT. but I'm not going to kick back until this one fails too.

mech injec here we come.....watch for a very new Industrial Injection HRVP and Smarty coming soon to a For Sale section near you.......waytogo

Please keep us up dated on the P7100 conversion . I am one of those bone stock trucks that eat VP44's - I am on I/P # 5 and have just about lost faith in ever getting that warm fuzy feeling about the VP44.

Please post up as you progress .

Will do........That 913 on Evilbay fell through. the auction was corrupted seconds before it closed. SO, I bought locally a good running '94 that I'm going to overhaul the bottom end, swap a 24v head onto with my HX40/HT4C twins on to. and swap the whole Sheebang in. Get rid of the VP44 AND the 53 BLOCK all in one sweep.

I've been building an overhaul stand for the cummins, its coming along pretty nicely. It'll be very easy to work on. I've got to tie in the legs and build the mounts yet.........but here she is. it will rotate the engine end over end to make bottom end and cam/lifters a breeze.

3x3 .125 HSS mains 900lb castors chem resistant with double lock swivels......

Please, keep updating This should be a good bit of info. As for injectors, from what I hear you can use them, but you already know you are going to need a new set of injector lines.

Ok most of the migrant workers around here in the summer roll around in trucks with cloth tarps on the back or in well old U Haul's and go from field to field.

Us "good ole boys" in the south are a little slow some times ......I thought you were talking about the nice looking red/maroon truck .
