I'm looking for a safe (egt's, etc.) boost in power for my 04.5 CTD. I'm more concerned with towing ability, than having a race truck. What chips, programmers, CIA seem to work best in my application? I've already straight piped my truck, which seemed to give it a little boost.

I would go with edge juice with attitude. Because it has alot of the safety features you are looking for like egt, boost, transmission slip. Plus the attitude monitor lets you view four different gauges at once and it looks sweet when it in your truck.

I second the edge juice with the attitude. I THINK edge has a rebate thing going on this month, but not sure. They juice wasn't availble for my truck when I bought my edge comp or I would have bought the juice. waytogo

Edge is a great choice. you can choose your power level on the fly, allowing you to dial it back for towing and crank it up a bit when you need to pass on that 2 lane.

With the added gauges, cool down timer, and ability to read and clear trouble codes, its about the best bang for the buck.

For a CAI, stick with stock if you want mileage unloaded. Replace the stock filter with and Amsoil Nano or an AFE Pro Guard 7 drop in to gain better flow. An AFE torque tube is a great idea.
If most of your driving is open road at speed, then a quality CAI like the Ice Box or Volant will do well. Something that will isolate the filter from the heat created under the hood and draw from the coolest possible place. Cool air in = more power and better mileage.
