Anybody Out There Know A Source To Have My Pick Up Bed Chopped To Haul 5th Wheel Trailers Designed For Flatbed Trucks, Lower Sides About 8-10". I Dont Feel Like Changing My Bed, And I Have Seen This Done Years Ago, Also Saw A New Ford With It Done. Have 07 Dodge, Dually Fenders Are Steel. Thanks.
I would have to believe that it will be cheaper to buy and install a flat bed than it will be to customize your stock bed.
Last time I checked, you would be looking at close to $10,000. I forget what comapny did the work. A flat bed is much cheaper.
seems like somebody is making a killing doing these conversions. to a skilled welder it wouldn't take long at all. I've thought about it just for convenience and so a lower trailer would clear. Don't have an actual need so I never did anything about it.
go with the flat bed , its cheaper . for example our welding rates here in central Va are 60-85 $ per hr. plus material . depending on process and metal type . what you want would take a good solid weekend to do . the flat bed is cheaper .waytogo
