Dad bought a 2002 Dodge Cummins dually 1 ton. Cummins ISB H.O. model with the NV5600 6spd manual, HD241 tcase, D80 rear, D60 front, and 4 wheel disks. For aftermarket stuff it's got a pop out gooseneck hitch, Voyager brake controller, and an exhaust brake. That exhaust brake rocks! It's a sport and has black leather just like my Dodge and he is happy to finally go diesel over his '98 GMC dually 454/5spd( it's for sale ) He bought it at the same dealership I bought mine at, we have to go and pick it up in a day or two. Dad finally decided to step up from GM and go Dodge Cummins. imp:
Looks GREAT !!! Just hook up to something real heavy and tell him to enjoy the driving experience.......... waytogo Tom
Good looking truck. Was that black out package a factory option or did the PO do that? My paw-inlaws 2002 was just like that but had the chrome grill and bumpers with grey and black pads. He had the auto that crapped out at 30,000. I love a 6 speed manual. waytogo
Regular front ends with the chrome are SLT models. Then there is the Sport models like my dad's truck pictured and my Red Ram. Here's a link where we talked about the different front ends. linky
Yeah, he now can pull the gooseneck where I can't still. The PO installed a gooseneck hitch, brake controller, and an exhaust brake....lucky guy. rotfl I still have to buy that stuff for mine.
sweet lookin truck that your dad got! I know my next truck, if I ever get one again, will be a dually. Scott
Perfect time to TTT this thread....we got the truck home last night. imp: It's a Jacobs brand exhaust brake. I would imagine this is a high quality unit? Jacobs makes good stuff, or at least has been my experience. For the California members......we had to take it to Nevada over 80, but we didn't get to use the exhaust brake much, even coming down Donner it would pull the truck down to slow too quick to leave it on much more than 15-20 seconds. imp: Obviously, a trailer has to be pushing the truck to warrant using it. :doah:
