For me it was adding Stanadyne Fuel additive to every tank of diesel. I have been reading alot about how dirty diesel fuel is and this fuel was never intended to be used in the high pressure FI systems that we have today. Everyone I talked to that uses Stanadyne comments they can hear & feel the differance when added to the diesel. Runs smoother/quiter, no smoke issues, injectors stay clean and last longer, Lubricy and Centain is higher = better MPG. I was buying fuel at this truckstop way out in the boonys on my commute into work. I thought I was getting good diesel cuz alot of Diesel rigs fill up there and they have the high flow pumps...well my Durmax started smoking simply going down the freeway at hwy speed..I mean REAL BAD to the point all four lanes of traffic backed up away from me as I looked like my rig was going up in SMOKE. I took my rig into the dealerships and they counld not find nothing, no codes were spit out nothing..."Mabey bad fuel" or "an injector stuck open" they said. Still smoking the next day so I got some Stanadyne..whitin burning 1 gallon of fuel...No More Smoke AT ALL! Seames smoother and just more awake than before.....My co-worker put some in his Cummins...he reported back the same thing..Smoother,Better simply amazed at how well it actually workedwaytogo Stanadyne ROCKS! imp:
Edge EZ at highest setting and air intake system. Very happy!!! Now with everything stacked up it pushing somewhere around 400 HP. Rob
1st mod FP,Boost, and Pyro gauges. Then a high flow air filter. Next is a Magnaflow 4" SS exhaust (hopefully here Thursday).
Hmm, guess I missed this one... Taller tires (33") to lower highway cruise rpms (and look better than the rollerskates it comes with stock). Edge Juice with attitude. So basically, a 120 hp chip and gauges... Followed by a "high flow" air filter which was a waste of money and a mistake I've since corrected (now running a stock Delco again). And then a 30k Reese HD rail kit and goose neck/5'er. Th-th-th-that's all folks...
None yet, truck is bone stock, at least until I finish my engine driven OBA.. then its on to AFE intake, gauges, bedliner, tow mirrors and thats it for a while.
