(I hope this is in the right place.)

I just bought a small deck-over trailer, and I am trying to remove the spare tire. The spare is mounted under the deck just behind the axle. It is mounted on a spring-loaded carrier, and I cannot loosen the mount. Any suggestions?

I'm not familar with that kind of spare mount, is the mount just rusted together? If it is you might try spraying it with PB Blaster.

    Thanks for the response!

It doesn't look like the fitting is too rusted. I took some pix with my phone, maybe that will help identify it.

I dont know if you can reach above it or not but if you can then try cutting the cable holding it up

    clarification

    Brisk,

I can't really see above it. Is there a cable that connects to the spring loaded knob?

It could have a winch/ cable lift above the tire. Look around and see if there is someplace to hook a crank to raise/ lower the spare.
