Washed the truck the other day and noticed a dime size rock chip just outside the windshield, paint completly off, should I just slap some factory paint over it with a brush or is there a better way?

I have used Duplicolor on other trucks to fix chips. They have instructions on how to do it. I didn't follow them, and up close you could tell. Just my $.02

Look around on-line, there should be some pages that describe proper "touch-up" application. If you do it right, the results are amazingly good, but you don't just brush it on if you want it to look good...
