2nd gen or 3rd gen?

Hey guys and girls, Ive decided its time to buy a cummins. Ive had 7.3 powerstroke for the past two years and I love the dodge cummins. All my friends have one and I am always incredibly jelous. I know the basics about them but I dont know whether to get a second gen or third gen. Ive heard horror stories about both. It will be my everyday driver so comfort is an issue(steering, ride, brakes etc). Id appreaciate any input. I am finding some great deals on 2nd gens with only eighty thousand miles for around 14,000 but it seems like the third gens are more expensive with more miles on them. Thanks for the help

 

Welcome - Depends on what you want to do with it, heavily/lightly modify, stock?

 

mostly stock, just exhaust and a chip.

 

I have had a 99 and now have the 2005 and like the 2005 better but partly because it has a 6 sp.
