Another gas lover here. I'll admit to wanting a badass diesel truck with a manual trans. and a fifth wheel hitch. Then I realize I have to drive it all the time. Carry my kids around and tools that need to be covered and locked up.

    My choice...

This is my second Suburban. My first was an '87 K10.

    I've also had a '98 Yukon (V 5.7l) then this '00 crew cab...(also 454 Vortec)

I love this 'Burb and plan to keep it. I know I'll just look for another one. It's always hauling something around.

I have a bit of a Jeep problem as well. :doah:

My plans for the 'Burb include Banks headers and exhaust. Some day.

    I prefer, "It's a FULL SIZE Jeep thing...and it's wicked expensive".

My 'Burb also hauls tools and materials for my contracting business. It's a work truck first. ;)

You should see a doctor about the burn. :doah:

That crew cab had the 4.10 gears. It got 10mpg all the time, towing or not.

The 'Burb can get as much as 14mpg carrying people...on the interstate...with a tailwind...and no traffic.

Just to revive an old, dusty thread... :D

My 93 Burban 454/4L80 with 4.10's gets 14 on the Hwy with Me, the wife and our 3 boys and luggage. On the same trip with my old 06 Duramax CC 2500 I got 18 to 20, and got to drive over 73, normally around 80. waytogo
