Does anybody know, which th400 came in a 82 4 door chevy dually? Did it have a long of short trailshaft? And also it came from the factory with a diesel engine. Are the motor mounts the same as a small block chevy?

If I'm not mistaken is should have a short tailshaft, if the tail housing were removed it should stick out of the case approx 4.5".

Don't know about the motor mounts.

On another web site I heard that it had a short tailshaft with a fixed yoke on it. Does that sound right?

A 6.2 diesel should have the same motor mounts as a small block gas engine.

Now I wonder how hard it's going to be to find one with a fixed yoke? I guess it's time to start hunting.
