my dad has a 99 dodge ram 3/4t w/ cummins and hydroboost . .. and a sticking brake pedal. pedal comes up very slowly, leaving the brake light on if you dont pull the pedal up with the top of your foot. if you push the pedal hard enough at a stoplight and let go, it will actually hold the truck still for a second or two. my dad just had the rear calipers replaced a month or two ago. the problem started about two weeks ago, went right back to the same shop, put new front calipers on and a new master cylinder. didnt fix the problem. any ideas?
well I would think the brake booster or caliper but since those have been replaced it might not be them one question did they use factory Dodge parts or parts from the local auto store could be a minor problem there. Also check all the brake lines make sure there isnt any rust, leaks,or rips in the rubber that could be allowing air to enter the system where the brakes bled and bled the proper way? Also how is the ABS system working check fuses ect thats all I can think of for now I wish you luck in finding the problem.Honestly if it was me I would bleed the brakes myself and see if that doent improve the situation.
im sure they used auto store parts, not dodge.i think it might have something to do with the ABS, i know there are specific procedures for bleeding brakes with ABS. im guessing something is wrong with that system. cruise control? wha? as far as i know its fine. probly hasnt been used in years since the last road trip. why?
