I am thinking about the prospect of going into business for myself. I see alot of local hauling that could be done and some long distance trips as well. Just wanted to know what some of the obstacles are that I would want to look for.
    Thanks in advance
    Danny

Are going to lease to a local company or go independent?
If going independent, do you have a customer base?
Do you have enough money saved to pay all your bills and cover your exspenses while waiting for payment on your invoices?
Most companies are on a 30-45 or 60 pay.
Insurance will be anywhre from $4,500 to $6000 a year.
How much do you expect to make?

There are a lot of variables.

The local towing company gets $250 to haul a lift truck, doesn't matter if it is 1 mile or 50 miles. If they bring one back, they get us(the company I work for) for another charge. I think I can compete with that. This idea isn't going to happen right away, maybe 2-5 years down the road.
    Thanks for the answers,
    Danny
