I have been looking online for the differences in airbags. I am not haveing much luck in being able to compare them or figure out wich ones are the 'ticket' to get?
So any suggestions on wich bag setup to go with?

I have the firestones, also very happy with them. Best price I found was at Summit Racing.

The Firestone Ride Rites and the Airlift Superduty bags are just about identical....in price and quality.

I have used the Airlift bags for years on 3 different trucks and they work very well......the Firestones will work just as well.

Ya I'm finding the Firestone's are more available than any others. Price range on the internet varys from Summit @ 229.00 up to 349.00 on other sites:doah:
It is amazing how much difference in price for the same product....
Firestone makes a bolt on, no drill kit. That is the ticket!waytogo
    Thanks again doooods!:pimp:

    Somewhat related..............towing situation

Do you set the air pressure in the bags with truck loaded (people and other cargo), then perform the set-up for the weight distribution bars on the trailer?

Seems reasonable to me that you would get everything else set before you did your weight distribution routine. However, it would also seem to me that with a properly setup WD system, you don't need bags. Am I wrong there?

i agree, if you have air bags you SHOULDNT need WD setup and vice versa, but it does smooth out the ride a lot.

Hmmm, never thought of that. I do have a WD setup for my truck trailer but I have yet to install/use it. I bought it with the thought I would need it once I put a slide-in camper in my towrig.
I would ASSume one could use both bags & WD setup..
The cool thing about the bags is I can use them to level my camper out when at camp & keep my towrigs ass from saggin on the road trip. The WD setup I bought has the anti-sway arms on it too:

My 18' 10K trailer has not had any issue with hauling my K5 so I don't even know if I will 'need' the WD setup. I guess once I get the camper in and loaded up I will find out if the WD will be needed???

    ANy thoughts?

I'm getting rid of the Suburban and getting an Excursion, which are notorious for their rear end squats.

    and transmission fires.... :stir:

IF you lift it and put larger tires on it, ANYTHING over stock please at the minimum install a tranny coller inline with the factory one. also look into upgrading the transmission specifically the TQ converter.

just a tip... but i had towed 4 of them that caught on fire from the transmission catching on fire. let it be known i was only a tow truck driver part time for 5 months.....

You might need a WD setup if you have a good sized trailer and a Large slide-in camper.
