Hey another FNG here. not new to oil burners but to computers and this site. I have had 7.3's since 1988, and currently a 99 450 5sp, and a 01 auto- [just put in the 5th transmission] what a plie of s... it is!!! Just got a Freightliner FL70 to tow with. It has a little Cat 3126 in it [7.2 L] and the tag on the valve cover states that it is rated at 300hp. I have another 3126 in a F 750 and I think it's rated at about 225hp so I know that this engine has several horse power ratings. I would like to know what the max. HP that Cat offers for this motor, and if mine can be "bumped up" by a Cat dealer or by other means.
I would also like to know if anyone out there has had any experience with an exhaust brake retro-fit or better yet a real engine compression brake conversion. I belive that a new head is required.
    Thanks for any info.
