Hi. I'm about to purchase Ram 3500 and am looking to install a CB. I'm looking to this forum for any make & model recommendations, installation advise etc.

What make & model is your CB? Would you go with the same CB if you had to do it again? What features should a person look for in a CB? Any installation advise?

Thanks in advance for your replies....

    Best regards; jbm

ive got one in my towrig and in my Jeep. theyy are both the cheap $35 wal-mart models. they work fine for what I use them for which is talking to other people when I am convoying to the trail or something. I have a friend who is really in to CBs and he has a Gallaxie 88 I belive. its a pretty hard core radio. I have a wilson "lil-wil" anntenna and it is awesome. the magnet is super strong so it doesnt fall off when I am wheeling. It as a terrific range too.

Had a Cobra in the wheeler but now that it's getting tubed out, I will try and find a smaller one, maybe even a portable hand held.

$19.95 at Radio Shack. I talked to a guy 15 miles away with a Firestick that was laying down on the roof of the truck just to test the radio. Pretty impressive for a $20.

I've got one of the cobra hand helds with power suply in both my tow rig and truggy, need to get another for my K5. But I can just plug it in wherever I need it. FireSticks are mounted on all my trucks.
