cold bucking f350

:doah: hi there iam new to this sit. I have 2000 f350 psd have cold problem intermitant, engine will cough or will buck violantly, then check engine light will come on. took to dealer, ran diag, could not find any codes stored, and coul not reproduce problem? any body have same problem? thanks need help, jerry

 

Try running lower viscosity oil and see if that helps it.

 

while intitially starting, or after it fires does it cough and buck?

 

cold operation bucking

hi there no it seems to do it after driving short distance and temp gauge is not totaly in normal range, after engine get up to full operation temp, no problems? thank for the replywaytogo

 

My buddy's Excursion does the same thing. It's definately temperature related. The last few times that the rig was in the shop the techs couldn't find anything wrong. They suggested using a thinner oil like a 5w-30 and doing a Bilstein flush (runs a solvent through the engine to remove sludge deposits).

 

thiiner oil can helpo as its an injector or IPR problem you are most likely have happening.

slight hesitation and some blue smoke when it does it i bet.
