Cummins Turbo Technologies has opened a new manufacturing plant in Charleston, S.C., the company said Friday in a release The 110,000-square-foot plant, built at a cost of $13 million, will produce turbochargers for heavy-duty engines and will complement the company’s existing manufacturing facility in Charleston, Cummins Turbo said. The new facility is expected to produce about 200,000 turbochargers a year. Cummins Turbo, a division of engine manufacturer Cummins Inc., Columbus, Ind., was formerly known as Holset Turbochargers.
