Hey guys, i just met a kid who is good at doing 6.2 diesel swaps into the old chevys. we got to talking, and he said he wanted a cummins, and i was like nice, i got one. I was telling him how i was interested in a 6.2 into my chevy and he said he had one, that has 85,000 miles on it, and he said if i traded him my cummins, he would put the 6.2 in my chevy, as well as a 4 speed maual trans, and hed give me 1k cash. I was already trying to sell the dodge, but the chevy gets real bad mileage, so i am thinking about doing this. I know the 6.2 doesnt compare to the cummins, but it would get me like 20 miles per gallon, and behind a 4 speed with a granny gear, i would assume i would still have decent power. Any opinion on this? Here is the chevy that would be getting the 6.2 and 4 speed. And here is the dodge i would be trading.
or do you guys think i would be better off selling the chevy and buying a 93 4x4 cummins auto with 200,000 miles, and doing a 6" lift with some 36" tires and some 5" stacks? I have someone who i can sell the chevy to, and turn around and buy the other dodge.
Well, i have decided to sell the chevy, and im buying a 93 4x4 cummins with an auto and 200k miles. This way, i can sell both of my trucks, my 91 cummins and my chevy, and have a truck that can both work, haul and tow, and go in the mud. only plans for the cummins are a 6" lift some 35" BFG mud-terrains, stacks and a hughes torque converter. i can get the truck for 3800, and its in real nice shape with a new flatbed on it.
Yes, i am reconsidering, and thinking of going this route. Thanks. I know its not a powerhouse, but i would get good fuel mileage and get to drive the truck i love everyday, and i will end up making about 1k on it too. Thanks.
