Saw a banner on CK and figured I'd come check it out. I'm 29, been married for 11 years and work in the wifes family business. I dig graves in 3 cemeteries and I make and install headstones. I generally haul a small 5,700lb backhoe on a homebuilt 18' trailer with our '85 F350 dually dump truck. It's only a 351 so a bit of a dog on the mountains but it gets the job done until the wife and I take over the business and buy us a Dodge dually dump with a CTD (I f*#king hate fords, our company fleet looks like a ford commercial so learning them has become a necessary evil).

Anyway this looks like a good place for me to learn some new stuff since according to the wife I "don't know everything yet". waytogo

Welcome! Maybe by the time you're ready Dodge will actually make a C&C pickup. (and a frame that will handle a dump box. :doah: )

OK my noobness is showing. What is C&C? And is there a problem with a dodge frame? I admit Fords are the only trucks I'm familiar with. We have 3 with dump beds. 1 is a real dump bed, then there's a 3/4 ton with a homemade wood plank dump bed that works well and can dump more than the truck could ever haul. Then we have my 3/4 ton with a uni hoist 1 ton dump under the factory steel bed. I figured all the big auto makers made HD 1 ton trucks that can take a dump bed. I'll be disappointed if not, I really wanted a cummins but I guess a duramax or powerstroke would do the job too. I don't know a whole lot about them yet, got a lot of reading to do.

Until then I have found our F350 with the 351 is a gutless turd :doah: Who the hell orders a 1 ton with a small block?

I only know the basics, but word is that there have been cracked frames under duallys with slide-in campers, and Dodge has said that the frame is not designed for slide in camper, utility boxes, etc. Something witht eh hydrofored frame I guess, like I said I'm not sure on the details.

I'm a little fuzzy on the details also, from what I "thought" I read somewhere was that problem was being corrected in late 05 with a new rear frame section. I would make a new post in the General or Dodge section, maybe someone else can shed some light.

I assume that it will be fixed at some point, just wanted to make sure he didn't get one that can't take for what he wants to do with it.
