Just know that your pickup with stacks on it lies somewhere on the cool scale between a big rig and this :D -

I'd say that means that you work with truckers. By your logic the receptionist, the dispatcher and the guy that washes the trucks are truckers too.

Build your truck however you want, that's the beauty of this country. I think stacks on pickups are just plain silly, in the same vein as giant spoilers on import cars. Like the owner thinks his truck is so big and powerful that it needs stacks like a semi has. I'd much rather see a big tailpipe dump out in front of a rear wheel, but that's just me. If nobody made dumb mods to cars and trucks who would I point and laugh at?rotfl

A single 5" exhaust out the back will flow plenty, stacks are oviously for looks and sound that no other V8 diesel can replicate.

He is right in a sense. You'll never have the sound of a big rig, so stacks are kinda pointless for a Diesel V8.

I'd seriously consider stacks on my own rig. The ones that turn outward or back look like crap, but a sweet set of miters would be awesome. :pimp:

I'd do it too but am werey about cutting holes in my bed. I could get away with just cutting one hole in the middle and then y'ing the pipe inthe bed to duals but then all that hot pipe is in the way. Or cut two holes in each corner but then I have two holes in my bed.rotfl

I have removed the muffler from my 6.5 to help lower EGT's, and I really like the sound. The small turbo on those engines acts as a muffler, and now it sounds a lot like a gas V8 with a nice exhaust. Now I can actually hear the exhaust from the cab. Even with my 3" ATS muffler before, all I could hear was the diesel clatter cruising down the road.

Stacks are pointless for any LD pickup truck. It's a Dodge thing because it seems that it's mostly Dodge guys that seem to think that their diesel powered light trucks are just like a big rig only a little smaller.;)

It will obviously physically work, but the sound will lack with a PSD.

They are pointless from a power stand point, they do nothing to help power and if anything slow you down from the extra weight. Thats not why guys do it, it's the look and sound of a stacked cummins.

Most guys don't give a rip about OTR trucks, they do it because they like it, not because they think they have little big rigs. That is like saying we lifted our K series Chevies because we wanted little monster trucks. ;)

P.S. ....but we do have an inline 6..... :pimp:

I lifted my K truck because it actually has a purpose, to increase ground clearance and allow for larger tires to increase off-road capability.

I lifted it only as much as absolutely neccessary, because any more than neccessary is, well, unneccesary and will detract from the function.

I know we have differing feelings on this. I hate crap that detracts from usefulness or function that is purely for looks, i.e. stacks on a pickup truck ( at least a pickup with a bed, on the one in the pic the stacks aren't detracting from any function, I just think they looks silly), wheels that are too wide for the tires mounted on them or that stick out farther than neccessary, etc. You like that stuff. I prefer function over form, you prefer form over function. We're not going to change each other's opinions, so it's pointless to argue it.

Well, at least there are *other* things we *can* get, but you Dodge guys *never* "get it", that's what I hear anyway... Something about "unable to perform" and "dysfunction", but I was never sure if they were talking about the owner/drivers, or the trucks... rotfl
