Welp, as of November my wife has a horse (don't ask  ), we haven't moved the beast yet, but she would like to start riding this summer so thought I would check into trailers, I am a total horse trailer newbie. What should I look for, also how much would a typical used 2 horse trailer run, any info would be great.

I'd look for one that you can fit a horse into.:dunno:

I'm sure that with enough tiedowns you could just strap him to the car trailer that you put the Blazer on.:pimp:

Back when I was a boy my dad had horses and I can remember him loading the horse and then useing a side door to 'escape' once the horse was lead into the trailer.

The reason I remember this is cuz he was loading a mean cow (his name was hamberger) and my dad had a chain around this neck and him and his buddy guided/dragged him into the trailer and that damn cow tried to get out of the lil door at the front of the trailer. If that door wasn't there I;m sure my dad woulda been crushed by that mean ass walking hambergerrotfl

I don't know if front doors are standard or not but it sure seams like a good idea to buy one with itwaytogo

    Steve,
If you go out 4-70 east get off on Parker road and go south. There are a lot of places that sell used horse trailers. But other that that I dont know what else to look for.

A good cheap used horse trailer should go for $500-1500. Look for solid floor wood with good rubber mats on top of the wood. Good trailer brakes will also be worth having on a horse trailer.

The cheap ones are going to be straight loading. It's harder on a horse on long trips than the slant load trailers, but as long as the horse is healthy it isn't a problem.

All straight load horse trailers are going to have an escape door, the slant load ones you have room to tie up the horse then swing the divider closed behind the horse then walk out the back.
