How do the major power moduals differ as far as how safe they are to run, do some cause EGT's to go higher than others etc.? Do they basicly all work the same?
Back when I was researching, there was defintely some significant differences among brands for the DMax. I went with Edge in large part because they could get good usable torque/power levels while keeping the tranny and EGT happy. They supposedly had the best "torque management" system available so that it did not hit the tranny with more power than it could handle when the tranny is at it's weakest points such as defueling when the tranny is about to shift. With the Attitude upgrade I got along with it, it also monitors EGT so I can go a little more agressive and let the computer monitor EGT. You can set it so that it starts defueling as you approach a user selectable EGT so that you will be back to stock settings (i.e. as if you had no chip) before it will let the EGT hit that level.
