Howdy, name's Tim, and I hail from Saginaw, MI. I mostly roam around the Great lake states thus far, not roaming very far very often. So far my towing experience comes from towing a little 21' cuddy cabin boat around, and on a couple occasions a bobcat. I currently have the truck in the signature, which last October replaced a 1992 3/4 ton Chevy pickup with a 350 and 4L80. I can't believe how much peppier this diesel is than that gasser, although it did a pretty good job of it. Upgraded for reasons of mileage, reliability, and ease of power upgrades from the diesel. So far I've not been disappointed in the least. One other factor that lead me to upgrade was I wanted a 4 door truck, which the Chevy I had was a regular cab, and after checking a few vehicles, and reading the forums settled on the Dodge as a compromise between an excellent powertrain and decent cab space. I'm sure some of you here recognize this name from various other forums, including Off-road.com where I moderate the GM boards. I recognize other posters from TDR and so forth as well, although my handle there is TSpecht. Looks like this forum is probably going to take off like the others I've mentioned, which is always a good thing, especially with such a handy topic as towing. But I've spent enough of your time, you may now return to whatever you were previously doing. (Oh yeah, I can be pretty sarcastic and smart-alecky at times, so make sure not to take it personal.)
Saginaw, MI Welcome Tim, another Saginaw resident here. I'm retired and quite active in National Nostalgic Nova Club. I own several 62-63 Nova convertibles and spring thru fall I haul a 30' enclosed gooseneck trailer, transporting antique and classic cars all over the U.S. and Canada. This hobby has given me several years experience towing through the plains, mountains and deserts covering 46 states in total. My current setup is the most reliable and efficent rig I have used and I enjoy towing with it very much. This site is the best especially if your into the Cummins Turbo Diesels.
