Truck and engine maker Navistar International Corp. said its military affiliate, International Military and Government LLC, won a $71.5 million contract from the U.S. Marine Corps to provide parts support for the Corps’ International MaxxPro mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles.
The contract builds on the more than $1 billion in total contracts Navistar has previously announced to deliver 1,971 MaxxPro units to the Marines.
The MaxxPro is designed to protect troops from roadside bombs, improvised explosive devices and other threats, the company said in a statement.
Navistar is the parent company of heavy-duty truck maker International Truck and Engine Corp.
