SO what about a "rub rail"??? Are they usefull? Looks like a platform for welding more deck width???hmmm??

I'm getting sick of looking for used...so I think I will order one and be done...

Nice trailer, that's almost exactly like the 10,000 pound jayhawk trailers out here, might even be the same brand, go for around 2500.00 ?

You might want to recheck those prices Steve. I'v ebeen talking with Eric @ Jayhawk & looks more like $3200 for one like Toby's.

For an 18 foot wood deck? :doah:

I know Toby paid more, but he got a 20 footer with d-rings, beefed up fenders, toaster etc..

You can drop a chain between the rub rail and the trailer then bring the hook up the outside of the rub rail and hook it over the top to tie things down. waytogo

Afraid so. The price of steel has gone up like 91% and the price of wood up like 32% over last year. Anyway, go to there website ( www.jawhawktrailers.com ) and send off for a quote. That is what they told me. I am also working on a trailer locally by a new company making them in Co Springs. I should know something by next week. I just need to get my 89 Burb sold. :doah:

The day I sell my Burb will be the day I put a down payment on a new trailer. At least that's my plan :doah:

Try emailing Eric at es@jayhawktrailers.com He's been really good about replying this week. I know he was in Moab last week, so that could be part of the problem if you tried to get ahold of them last week.

    Here is the link:
    http://www.pj-trailers.com/products/details.php?id=C6
and a small pic of a similar trailer:

    Specs for my trailer:
    18ft w/2'dovetail
    treated wood deck
    6" channel frame & tongue
    3"channel crossmembers on 16" centers
    2 5/16 Bull Dog
5' slide in ramps w/rear supports
2-5.2K axels both with elec brakes & raidial trailer tires(235/80R16)
    Spare tire & mount
    Self charging brake-away kit
HD diamond plate fenders (not the filmsy ones)
Upgrade to 10K drop leg jack
    Black powdercoat

Plus whatever else is listed on the link above
I choose not to have any D rings so I can install them were I feel is the best location.

The first place I got a quote from last week did NOT cover all the details and options but gave me a 'starting' quote of $4280 +tax&lic
The second dealer I worked with yesterday was awsome, he took the time to detail out exsactly what I wanted called me back today and said $3800 +Tax&Lic with all my upgrades :pimp:

Ask away if you need more.....

    Nope 18' overall
My 72 has a 104" wheelbase so 16' of flat serface is pleanty. I have a longbed so all my gear will go there. If I do need more space I could simply fill the back of the Blazer :pimp:
Plus 18 footer will be a bit easier on driveway storage and overall towing length, my Dmax is almost 23ft long already :pimp:
