Was wondering how B&W gooseneck hitches are mounted on our frames without drilling. I was told that our frames are hydroformed and will be weakened if they are drilled.

i put a B&W turn over ball in mine and it has brackets that use existing holes... the only thing that i had to cut was a small notch to get the x-member to slide in... took us about 2.5 hours start to finish...

drilling/welding on our hydro'd frame is ok per TSB 13-001-03 and does not weaken our frames. As with any box or tubes , such as our frames, do not drill or weld on the top or bottom. The brkts for my 5er hitch were welded in 3-10-03 and has 56000 mile pulling my 11200 lb 5er. My neighbor hotshots with a '03 Dodge 3500 flat bed with welded brakets and has 245000 miles. He pulls in excess of 26000 lbs. Check with their website as about all of the hitch manufactors offer kits to use when either drilling/welding or clamping the brkts to the frame.......JIM

Jim, thanks for that info! Nice reference to the that TSB, makes total sense about not drilling on the top or bottom. Thanks again!waytogo
