Ok so last week I had my engine idiot light come on...took it in to find out WTF.... Their answer: "Well it popped a trubo and overdrive code so we updated the software virsion cuz we didn't find anything wrong" Fastforward to this morning... I get in, fire it up, hang out fer a few, then start to head out..First reverse then drive...WTF!!! I am pushing on the gas pedal and nothing is hapening..nada squawt zilch..just ideling down the street NO THROTTLE..I feel the pedal is working, not like it was all loose or anything.. Ok so I shut it down, fireit up and still cannot rev the engine..the truck moves when in drive as the idel is enough to start moving...put the truck in the driveway thinking I have to take it back to the F%$*)@#*@)*$@ dealership!! GOD I hate that place! I like to work on my own stuff but I haven't touched the Duramax nor do I know what I am doing... SO I popped the hood to try and rev the engine but I cannot FIND the THROTTLE ...hahahaha Ok it's dark so I turn on the outside light..nope still can't find any throttle linkage to rev the engine with F#)(*#)_(#_$(@#*%*....so I try it from the inside again and VOORROMMM VOOOROOMM holly hell it is working again....I got in and drove to work (1.5hrs) and all is fine :doah: :doah: :doah: I figure the throttle position sensor was not active or off when I first fired it up..? SEEE!! I take it to the dealership and BAM! Issues! I hate thoes places Thanks! I feel better now...rotfl Burt
Oh boy. Well at least it's under warranty. Let me know if you need a ride to and from the Chevy dealership.rotfl
hahah funny fella Warenty....not for long...60K and it's over:doah: I am at 55K Another reason I need to goto Duramax school and learn meself on how to work on this beast! I better start a thread on that too waytogo
1st The Newer diesels all use electronics to control fuel not the air. When you push on the peddle it moves an electric switch to add fuel so there is not a throttle per say. I would look for Disconected or partially diconected stuff under the hood. Perhaps it is also a NSBU switch deal.
What the hell is NSBU? Ya a loose connection is WAY possiable...I just took it to the dealer after all and we all know they have ZERO pride in doing things right..they get paid more to get the cars/trucks in and out ASAP, than being a perfectionist and doing things with pride...sad really:doah: I figured there would still be a manual linkage in there somewere...
Hmmmm..My truck's tranny still moved the truck down the street when in reverse or drive, just no throttle. I guess I don't understand what that switch does or can do if it fails...
