so, with moving to PA soon i may end up buying a house that is not on a grid for utilities... propane/nat gas is a great source for heat, cooling and cooking...

would there be any major issues with building a trailer with 6 LPG tanks, ~60 gallons each, that is a semi perminant unit?

say for instance, keep two small tanks to run the house on while a fill is being performed. one to take with, one to run the house, then drive the trailer down, fill up all 6 tanks, then park the trailer next to the house and hook it back up?

im sure it can be donw, but is this a feasible idea?
i would put for small jack, one at each corner, to lift the trailer off the ground, then hand a chain anchor of the sorts for that guy justin case...

    INPUT PLEASE!! lol
    GRant

Not a bad idea, but what about using a larger single tanks instead of the 6 smaller tanks. Or will the gas company come to you and fill a larger tank? I would also check with the authorities if there are any restrictions on hauling that amount of fuel.

when I lived off the gird I had the gas company come to us with a large tank at the house I dont think there could be any issues but you never know with the new homeland security laws or state, city or county laws

both of you have valid points. the reason for using smaller tanks is two fold. a system can be rigged up to find out if a tank springs a leak for one reason or another, then isolate that tank. the other reason is i can get smaller tanks for CHEAP. a large tank is SPENDY.

having someone deliver is going to add to the price. i figure since i wont be driving my truck much anyway, it wont be a big deal. and since ill need an occasional drive into town to warm it up, and get groceries once in a while, why not make the trip with tanks in tow....

I second the hassle of hazmat it is much cheeper to just have it delivered. most gas companies will rent you the tank super cheap as part of thier package.
