TST Towing Results

    I towed to the Rubicon this weekend. A long hill on highway 50 had me at redline in 3rd gear at 35 mph last year pulling my truck. This year, on setting 3/3 I pulled the hill at 70 mph in 5th and was able to accelerate faster if I needed to. EGT's never got over 1200* and the truck just hummed right along. TST > all

    Averaged 15.9 calculated throughout the 700 miles round trip... Thats towing 14k.

    It would have been better if it had been flat the whole way but 100 miles each way was mountains and then the last 32 miles was 3rd gear red lined behind the other (lesser) tow rigs :D Following behind a 1980-something 1/2 ton pulling a 1 ton blazer up a 7% grade is just no fun :doah:
