I have a 2006 dodge ram 2500 diesel, and have made some small changes but want to do more as long as its in my budget. So far i have installed a k&n air intake and also a 5" exhaust. To make a long story short i want more power and torque and also i want the black smoke to roll. One last thing i am towing a 34' 5th wheel trailer and my brakes get really hot going down the mountain.I want to upgrade my brakes and rotors.Who makes the best ones. Thanks for all your input, Marty

    Power:
    1. Get a TST PMCR with remote, you'll have all the power you want.

    2. You don't mention what you have for a trans, but you'll want some upgrades done to the automatic like a new valve body at the least and better would be a new torque converter in addition. If it's a standard transmission, than you can get by for now but will likely want a stronger clutch sooner than later.

    Stopping:

A much better idea would be to use the brake money and buy an exhaust brake.

My Bully Dog Triple Dog makes me go faster and will smoke if I want it too, putting my Jacobs PRXB in this weekend to help slow me down.

    Bobby is dead on here.

TST R49. Includes gauges, cool down timer, economy mode, really awesome unit. I run one on my 06 drag truck.

Transmission needs to be looked at. With a G56, you will smoke the clutch and the stock dual mass flywheel is a liability even with stock power.
As for the auto, well, anything over about 100hp, and it will most likely slip under load. I would do a Valve body upgrade right away. You'll love the change in the way it drives too.

For your brakes look for something cross drilled and slotted, finnaly coming to the truck market in enought options. I would also look for Performance pads from Hawk or 911 they have some new kevilar lined pads out now but I cant recall who makes them, they also offer cross drilled and slotted rotors. Check out the current Four Wheeler Mag I belive they had a spot on em.
