Well, once again I went another winter not getting a decent shelter built for my truck, as I spent all winter building a shop instead.

So another summer in the driveway with california 100*+ temps.

Yesterday I completely washed and hand waxed my truck, the whole body, bumpers (mine are not chrome, match painted), and the roof too. I also laid on a coat of tire shine on the tires and sprayed/wiped down some more tire shine on my mirrors and the rest of the plastic trim like door handles. The tire shine carries a lot of ingredients to block UV rays, I figured it would help protect the plastic.

What are some of you guys doing to help protect your truck from the coming heat? I would imagine this is a common thing since most of our trucks won't fit in normal standard garages anyway.rotfl :doah:

I think the thing I did to help it the most was park it on the beach right in line with 40mph winds so it could get a nice sand blasting all weekend. I think that helped to remove most of the clearcoat so I think I'm good to go for summer! Oh, drove through a bunch of salty sea water too to help give a protective coat to the underbody.

    w00t, go beach!

Last weekend I drove thru a touch free wash, basically to blow out the under carage this weekend I'm going to get out and hand wash the entire truck re-bling my wheels and tires for the interior I'm going to vacume it out and clean my seats armor all the dash, center console, hand holds, doors, mirror bodys, bed rails and step guards and plastic on the engine bay. After that re-rain x the windows and promply crash into my driveway with my elastic arms. Also I'm going to add my new camo "dog seat cover".
