I am wanting to get a CB for my truck. What does every one recommend and why? Oh and I am not looking to spend a fortune on one. Thanks.

A Cb radio. Citizen Band radio to talk to truckers when traveling or who ever has one. Not really sure how else to explain it. My name on here has nothing to do with it, they are my initials.

My Dad said you should get a Cobra. Try to get one with 20+ channels and also try to get one with soundtracker and weather stations for traveling. At RadioShack.com, the Cobra 40 - Channel NightWatch CB Radio with SoundTracker is a good choice because it not only has 40 channels, but it also has 7 NOAA weather channels, but it will run you about $150 - $200 depending on where you go. Ofcourse you can get basically the same thing called the Deluxe Chrome Faced CB Radio with 40 Channels and all 7 Weather channels for about $100. Ofcourse it might not be as good of quality as the Cobra.

I have a spent a few years installing cb's on the side for my uncles company. The best CB in my opinion is the Uniden pro 510 XL or the Pro 520 XL. They just hold up better and last longer than anything else. Especially in log trucks and other equipment that sees a rough ride everyday. Plus their audio output is far superior to a cobra. You can really crank up the volume when you need to. waytogo

I am getting a Cobra for my Dodge. I have a small Uniden in my K5 & it works well but I want the oldschool silver front Cobra for the towrig. I am going with the Cobra 25 with weather channels. Unfortunately it also comes with soundtracker which doesn't really do crap for sound quality like you would think. Alot of people call it soundcrapper.

The weather channels is the biggest feature I need so I will suffer with the ST until I can stop by a CB shop & have the tech remove the ST from the radio.

Why are ya pickin on me carguy? Just kidding, I'll have you know Smokey and the Bandit was cool movie back in the day! rotfl I want one for traveling. I plan on making it somewhat easy to pull in and out to switch between my truck and the wife's car. It can also come in handy when you are out in the desert around here. Lots of places you don't get a cell phone signal but might reach someone on a CB if ya break down or have troubles. Thanks for all the info guys.
