Will a truck cost more now or in spring/summer?

A buddy of mine is wanting to get a diesel pickup in the 2001-2004 range. As always, there are hundreds of them right now on eBay and AutoTrader.com. Would he be better off waiting until spring when the rush to get a 4x4 isn't as great and dealers aren't jacking up prices, or would it be better to go for it now when diesel fuel is high and the used vehicle market is super low? Will there even be a difference worth mentioning?

I don't know myself. I would think if he's looking for one equipped with four wheel drive then spring would be better. Another thing is that if he waits until spring, and since he's looking used, an '01-04 will be 6 months older. Won't make much of a difference but maybe 500-$1,000. I bought my Ram Cummins almost exaclty one year ago, picked it up on the 4th of Oct. It's been a great year.... :)

I would say to buy now. the employee pricing killed the used truck market and prices are rediculously low on used trucks. That is why there are so many for sale, because people traded them in for the new ones.

My advice would be the sooner the better waytogo

in the past the used 4x4 truck market gets insane in the fall and winter. where i work the boss goes to the auctions and some times he said good deals but most of the time junk for high prices.
