Fuel filter clean? That can make a difference. Does it smoke a fair amount? Tranny gicing you any trouble?

Power feel any different than it used to?

I don't really know where to start on that truck either. On my truck, I'd say I needed a new injection pump, but I don't think you have an injection pump like I do, I think that engine uses the HEUI design and I wouldn't know where to start there.:doah:

I may try the fuel filter. Doesn't smoke at all. Just passed emmisions w/ flying colors. Like 2%. Tranny seems to be working just fine. It was rebuilt 12K ago, just before I got the truck.

And I don't think the truck has the injector pump either, or at least that's what I was told.

All I've ever used was the totella with the diesel. I didn't know you could use synthetic oil w/ diesels.

I just thought I could only run the combustion oil, which is typically rotella, in a diesel.

Diesels and synthetic are a match made in heaven. synthetic handles the heat of a diesel much better.

Here is about the best diesel oil on the market.[IMG]

Besides amsoil, any other good brands on the market that are more easily found in stores?

I'm due for oil in about 1500 miles. I'm also going to be doing the two diffs & T-case. Any recommendations there, or standard stuff that I would use in any 4x4?

As far as availability, Amsoil is easier than going to the autoparts store. Just shoot either me or "dieselnut" a PM with what you want, questions, comments, help, whatever it could be. We can run your credit card and BOOM....Amsoil at your door.waytogo

They have their own filters designed to go with their oils, including fuel, air, trans, and almost anything else. Spark plugs, windshield wipers, car polish, wax, fuel additives, coolant, mechanic products like brake cleaner and penatrant oil....

www.amsoil.com Browse the site, they have prices listed for everything, along with an application guide.

As far as other oils, Redline and Royal purple are great quality, like amsoil, but don't have the variety of products. They are just as costly and I've honestly never seen Royal purple in a store.

As far as your diffs and Tcase,

75W-90 is what is reccommended by Amsoil for both diffs.

    This for the front, http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/fgr.aspx

same for the rear without a posi

this if you do have a posi in the back,

and this for the transfer case.

Thanks for all the info. I'll have to do some checking in the next week as I need to swap out some fluids. I need to swap out some parts between my beater car & my nephews first. Putting all the good/new stuff on his before I sell mine. Actually, hoping it doesn't sell so I can put it in a Hornet class at the races:D
